Joan Rhodes-Copeland

Joan L. Rhodes Copeland is a native Virginian, a graduate of Norfolk State University.  She resided in New York City most of her life — working in school administration.  Upon returning to Virginia she and her husband, Wayman Copeland, opened an art gallery in Portsmouth, The Art Atrium II.  For several years this gallery served the community and residents of Hampton Roads. 

The Aspire Art Gallery is a new venture for Joan and as a community gallery, the focus will be to serve the community through, art exhibitions, art education and art programming.
