Aspire Art Gallery proudly presents Black Voices & Visions Revisited, a powerful exhibition celebrating the creativity, resilience, history, and cultural experiences of African American artists from across Hampton Roads.

Originally presented as the inaugural exhibition of the new Gallery at the historic Crispus Attucks Theatre, Black Voices & Visions received widespread recognition for its compelling visual storytelling and thoughtful exploration of identity, heritage, perseverance, and community. Curated by Aspire Art Gallery Executive Director Joan Rhodes-Copeland, the exhibition was praised for bringing together established and emerging artists whose work encouraged reflection, conversation, and a deeper appreciation of the African American experience.

Now, Black Voices & Visions Revisited brings many of these remarkable works to Aspire Art Gallery, offering visitors another opportunity to experience this celebrated exhibition in a more intimate setting.

Through painting, mixed media, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, the exhibition explores themes of history, culture, faith, family, identity, social justice, resilience, and hope. Together, these works tell stories that honor the past while inspiring meaningful conversations about the present and future.
